A protected shoreline in front of high-value homes
The town's coastline is part of the Litoral del Baix Empordà, a Natura 2000 site (ES5120015) designated as a Special Area of Conservation, which covers the cliffs and coves of Cap de Begur. Royal Decree 517/2024 provides for environmental protection zones for drones; before filming a seafront villa we check on ENAIRE Drones whether the route touches any restriction. When the flight enters a protected area, authorisation from the Catalan natural areas service may be required: the client must hold it, and we tell them what's needed.
The old town, with its castle and 'indiano' houses, is an urban environment: narrow streets, tightly packed façades and residents and visitors on foot. Flights there need a safe margin from the houses and nobody underneath, and as the streets fill up in summer, we keep most village shots for the off-season.
