From square to cove: one municipality, three scenarios
In the town centre and the coastal villages, flights count as urban under article 40 of Royal Decree 517/2024, with everything that entails: distances, height and nobody underneath. Summer concerts on the beach, such as the Calella havaneres, add another difficulty: they're gatherings of people, and flying over them comes with very strict requirements, so shots are planned from beside the audience and with a very conservative approach.
The third scenario is the coastline between the coves: the municipality's coastline is part of the Litoral del Baix Empordà Natura 2000 site (ES5120015), which includes Cap de Sant Sebastià. When a flight path enters it, we check the environmental protection zones on the ENAIRE Drones map. If required, an authorisation from the Catalan natural areas service is needed, which the client must hold, and we tell them what's needed.
