Where does a photographer from outside the city make a difference?
There is no shortage of photographers here, and we do not compete on proximity. Where we fit is photography that has to be used afterwards: on the website, in the catalogue or in a campaign, shot by a team that also builds websites and runs social media and knows which crops, ratios and file sizes each image will need. For an industrial or service company, that saves a second round of edits and a conversation between suppliers.
The other big commission is the trade fair. Since 2006 the city has hosted Mobile World Congress, held since 2013 at Fira de Barcelona's Gran Via venue in L'Hospitalet, between February and March. Photographing a stand during those days means getting accreditation, shooting the empty space before opening, and sending the selection for press and social media within the next few days.
